New Women’s Bible Study Group Launches in Chattooga County — All Are Welcome

A few weeks ago, a group of women from a local church in Chattooga County launched a new Bible study called Community Ladies Bible Study, and it’s already becoming a special space for women across the area to connect and grow in their faith. All women in the community are invited to join.

Why it started: This study began within our congregation when a group of ladies desired community and encouragement. We wanted to be filled with truth when discussing difficult topics, encouraged when we felt defeated, and surrounded by community when we felt alone. Mark 15:16 says, “Go into all the world…” As we experienced the impact of coming together to study God’s Word, we felt called to take it beyond ourselves into our own community. The topic of our first study became clear as we heard common and important questions being asked: What should the church look like? Is baptism essential for salvation? Can we lose our salvation? These are often avoided due to the discomfort that may arise from disagreement, but they are too important to ignore. We chose to study the truth of Scripture for answers. While disagreement may happen, we approach every discussion in love and Christ-likeness, as taught in 1 John 4:7-8. Our goal was to create a safe space where women could connect, pray for each other, study together, and build one another up.

What can people expect? Each Bible study begins with prayer. We ask for any prayer requests and take time to lift each other up, because we believe that the fervent prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, as stated in James 5:16. Attendees can expect to leave knowing they are part of a community of godly women who strive to live faithfully, serve with love, and share only the truth of God’s Word. Our teachings are rooted in Scripture, and our words are spoken in love. Everything shared in confidence is respected and kept within the group. This is a place to bring your burdens, questions, and heart. We want you to feel supported, safe, and loved.

Spiritual growth, a more profound understanding of Scripture, godly relationships, and sound biblical teaching are some blessings we hope women receive through the Community Ladies Bible Study.

Plans for the group and age range: This study is open to women of all ages. Whether young or old, we all have wisdom to share and lessons to learn. Scripture encourages women to guide and learn from one another, as seen in Titus chapter 2. As we dig deeper into God’s Word, we hope to grow spiritually and in number. We desire to continue reaching the women in our community, drawing closer to God, and supporting each other on our faith journeys.
