Kevin Godfrey is back at it again, reminding us why he’s known as one of Chattooga County’s most dependable and selfless citizens.
Most recently, Kevin met a woman whose 94-year-old mother had a tree fall on her home, causing severe damage. The family had no insurance, and with heavy hearts and few options, they shared their story. Kevin didn’t hesitate. Teaming up with Derry Maddux of Pro Roofer, the two are stepping in to make things right. “A 94-year-old woman should not have to worry,” Kevin shared. “We’re going to start in the morning. God bless this family—really touched my heart tonight.”
This is far from the first time Kevin has stepped up to help someone in need. Over the years, he’s become known for his quiet but powerful acts of kindness: delivering water during boil advisories and outages, providing firewood to families during freezing temperatures, and recently organizing a benefit and GoFundMe for a local child battling illness.
As the heart and soul behind Godfrey’s Tree Service, Kevin uses more than just equipment and labor—he uses his platform to lift others. Whether it’s climbing into action after a storm, rallying for a family in need, or simply offering a helping hand, helping with food deliveries for the Resource Center, Kevin proves time and time again that community isn’t just a word—it’s a way of life.
