I-16 Traffic Pacing Monday night for bridge beam removal at Exit 148

PLAN AHEAD: These traffic paces will be utilized to remove bridge beams for the Old River Road Interchange project.

Georgia DOT announces numerous overnight traffic paces on Interstate 16 Monday night between the hours of 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. near Exit 148. These traffic paces will be utilized to remove bridge beams for the Old River Road Interchange project.

Law Enforcement will be piloting the traffic paces to maximize safety starting 7 p.m., November 9 eastbound at Exit 143/Pembroke in Bryan County then moving to westbound at Exit 152/Bloomingdale in Chatham County. Law Enforcement will pace traffic at 20 mph typically not exceeding 15 to 20 minutes.

Message boards and advanced warning signs will be in place to alert drivers of police pacing traffic and slow traffic ahead. Motorists should expect delays during paces on this stretch of I-16. All work and related activity is weather contingent.
