Lowndes County: Golden Oaks Drive entrance closing temporarily

The Golden Oaks Drive entrance off Shiloh Road in Lowndes County is scheduled to close Monday, Sept. 28, to correct a drainage issue.

Work will include installation of additional drainage boxes to alleviate issues during heavy rainfall. The entrance is set to close around 10 a.m. and work should be complete in a couple of weeks. In the interim, drivers can access Golden Oaks Drive from Holly Lane.

This area was part of the reconstruction of the Interstate 75 Exit 22 interchange and the drainage correction will be done by that contractor, Reames and Son Construction Co. Inc.
